As a motorsport reporter, I’d been aware for sometime of a growing demand to know more about the Australian V8 Supercars Championship. It’s got a huge global following, but still seemed to be relatively unknown in the UK. While there are some great (Australian) websites providing excellent coverage of the sport, the Series’ organisers have made no bones about wanting to create an internationally recognised brand, so I felt the time was right for a (UK-based) fan site showcasing the sport to a new audience, developing links with existing fans who want to follow the Series in Europe and America, and in my own small way, help to promote the category around the globe.
The V8′s are the most exciting touring car category in the world and with v8scglobal, I wanted a website that captured that excitement with space for large pictures and stunning backgrounds. I had some strong ideas and Alex grasped what I was after straight away, and, despite freely admitting to not knowing much about the sport, he certainly did his research. GoMySites came up trumps, producing a great looking and easily navigable site design, which gets complimented on every time I show it to anyone.
It’s also easy to manage too, making site maintenance quick and painless.
I highly recommend GoMySites to anyone wanting a quality, user-friendly website. As soon as I met with Dylan and Alex I got a good feeling about what they could do. I’ve worked with several web developers in the past, but GoMySites went the extra mile, really listening, taking time to fully understand my requirements and not trying to push things on me that I didn’t need. They’re approachable as well and don’t make you feel stupid if you don’t quite understand something and they’ve always been willing to answer any questions I may have had since the site was finished. I will definitely use them again.

As a small charity with only a small income, we needed to ensure that any money we spend will directly benefit our service users. Our online presence is more than just a website, it’s a support service in itself helping male survivors of childhood sexual abuse and rape to feel less isolated, break the silence and begin their own psychological healing process.
So when it came to creating our website, it was important that we worked with someone that was prepared to learn about us in order to understand our work and what we needed from a website.
From the outset, Alex and Dylan at GoMySites did everything they could to help us create the site, treating our services users work with the upmost respect and sensitivity and always delivered.
What they created is a fantastic website that not only looks stunning, but is also easy to manage – something vital to us as a very small volunteer team. The content management system they have created has been a great addition to our organisation and is already making our service delivery so much easier.
Trust is a key issue to those dealing with the legacy of abuse and GoMySites never once gave us any cause for concern and were 100% supportive in this whole process.
It’s not often you come across an organisation that really does care about what they deliver and we will certainly use GoMySites in the future for all our online needs.
We can’t recommend them highly enough!

When we first started planning opening a toy shop we agreed that if we were to make it a success we would really need an e-commerce website to run alongside our bricks and mortar shop. I am far from the most computer literate person and so we began researching how we would go about building and running a website. Dylan and Alex at GoMy were recommended to us a by a friend who had his own website built by GoMy and who was very impressed with the outcome. We contacted GoMy and arranged a meeting with Dylan and Alex. They came to see us and we explained exactly what we wanted and how we wanted it. They listened, understood what we wanted and we spent some time swopping ideas. From then on we pretty much left it in their capable hands. They contacted all our suppliers and collected the images and product specs they needed and put it all together. Once the website was built I went over to the GoMy offices and spent a morning with Dylan and Alex learning how to use the site, update items, add new products and how to use the wordpress side of the site so I could Blog (check me out!!) They also did some fantastic screen casts for me so, if I forgot how to do things, I could go back and watch the videos on how to do them! Since the website has been up and running and left in my hands (!) it has been plain sailing. Occasionally I have had a couple of problems which have been sorted almost immediately by Dylan or Alex. In fact the other day I contacted them on a Sunday morning and got a reply straight away! Their support and expertise has been outstanding. I have had many many compliments on my website, how professional it looks and how easy it is to use! I always recommended GoMy whenever the opportunity presents itself and if you’re considering having an internet site built then – go with GoMy!

GoMySites were different to any other web company we contacted. Having had a number of ecommerce customers in a previous role, I had heard stories of poor rushed jobs, missed deadlines, high spurious costs and no personal service. GoMySites were not only interested in me and my business, they went the extra mile to understand the industry and my competitors. I highly recommend GoMySites to anyone wanting a website, they are friendly, professional, knowledgable, very personable and a pleasure to do business with. We really couldn’t have hoped for a better website and wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to build it.

Meeting these guys has demystified the dark arts of website design and optimisation! From the outset, it was clear that they took the time to understand our business, how we worked and what we needed to achieve, and since then they have delivered on everything we have asked of them ; not only that, they have given back to us a great deal of insight, some very practical ideas and we see this as real added value to our relationship. To add to this, they are great people and speak English rather the Geek!

I was looking around this morning for some posters or prints for our new office walls. I stumbled across some photos from an American photographer called Gregory Crewdson. I’m sure he’s a famous photographer, but i’d never heard of him before.
Wow his photos are something else. After reading about him, he creates these highly elaborate staged photos, creating surreal atmospheric scenes in middle America. Some with a slight touch of sci-fi. I’d love to find somewhere that sells prints of this work.
After a recent Magento build for a client we were asked the age old problem “My site is running slow for visitors how can we speed this up?”
It’s actually not as complex as you might think to quickly speed up magento without having to do any massive code changes. Other than the obvious stuff like:
GoMySites specialise with building online shopping sites using Magento.
The Magento breakdown below will give you a comprehensive guide on the features we can add to your online store:
This is an issue I come across from time to time, especially when using wordpress or anything else that dynamically produces content.
The scenario is you have a list of posts on a page and you’re not able to add a class to the last item in the list (say to remove a separating border).
